How the champion recommender works

The recommender answers one question: given the champions already in this draft, which pick has actually won the most in the same situation? It does not guess from champion abilities or tier lists. It looks up real results from the ranked solo/duo games tracked by LoLSuggest.

How to use it

  1. Pick your role with the buttons above the teams. Leave it empty to see the best pick for any role that is still open.
  2. Add the champions your teammates have locked in. If you know their lanes, set them with the lane menu on each slot; otherwise each champion is placed in its most-played role.
  3. Add the enemy picks as they appear. Lane matchups are most accurate when the enemy lanes are set.
  4. Read the reasons under each suggestion. They list the win rate with each ally and against each enemy, together with the number of games behind it.

How a suggestion is scored

  • Direct pair data. For every candidate champion the tool takes its win rate when playing with each of your allies and against each enemy, in the matching lanes.
  • An average of what is known. Those direct win rates are averaged into the score shown on the card.
  • More evidence ranks higher. A champion with data against four of the five picks is listed above one with data against a single pick, even if that single number is higher.
  • Noise filters. Pairings with fewer than 30 games are ignored, and champions with less than a 1% pick rate in a role are not suggested for it. A candidate without any direct pair data falls back to its overall role win rate and is listed below the data-backed picks.
  • Your filters apply. The patch, server and rank filters at the top of the page change the data the recommender reads.
