Wukong Guide

Jungle

Wukong is a sticky, slippery skirmisher who can switch between assassin and bruiser in the middle of a fight. He duels physical damage champions well thanks to Stone Skin, stays relevant from early game to late, and uses Cyclone to start or finish teamfights.

Conqueror is the only keystone our guide recommends, with Triumph, Legend: Alacrity and Last Stand, plus Magical Footwear and Cosmic Insight. For a tankier page, take Bone Plating and Overgrowth, or Axiom Arcanist and Transcendence for faster ultimates. Run Flash and Smite and start with Scorchclaw Pup or Mosstomper Seedling. Rush Trinity Force; you use every stat on it and its parts. Then take Sundered Sky, Black Cleaver against armor stackers or Eclipse, followed by Sterak's Gage and Death's Dance. Swap to Mercury's Treads and Kaenic Rookern or Maw of Malmortius against heavy magic damage, and buy Chempunk Chainsword against healing. Overlord's Bloodmail and Guardian Angel are late-game options.

Strengths

  • Stone Skin's armor and regeneration make him a strong duelist against physical damage junglers like Graves, Kayn or Rengar.
  • Two dashes: a long targeted Nimbus Strike and a short Warrior Trickster dash that passes through walls.
  • Excellent in long fights, since autos lower Crushing Blow's cooldown.
  • Stays strong at every stage of the game.

Weaknesses

  • Struggles against long-range mages like Xerath, Syndra or Ziggs that stay outside Nimbus Strike range.
  • Warrior Trickster has a very long cooldown before you put points in it, so early misuse is punished.
  • Relies on autos, which makes Teemo, Shen and Rammus awkward to fight.
  • Much less useful when Cyclone is on cooldown.

Laning Phase

Stack Stone Skin quickly at the start of every fight: Nimbus Strike onto the target, auto, then use Crushing Blow as an auto reset. That gives you three stacks before they can react. Gank once you have Cyclone, since your early ganks depend on it. Against Trundle, Volibear and Udyr, avoid even duels; they out-sustain you and steal or ignore your armor.

Mid & Late Game

Use Crushing Blow's long range to shred a frontliner's armor before a teamfight starts; the reduction boosts all of your team's physical damage. Save Cyclone for teamfights and objectives, and use it to cancel channels like Jhin's Curtain Call or Vel'Koz's ultimate. Your clone copies Cyclone, and you can recast it, so you get two hits.

Key Tips

  • Crushing Blow's bonus range reaches over thin walls at Krugs, Blue Sentinel and the Dragon pit, so you can finish a target who Flashed over a wall.
  • Press the Stop key to fake a Warrior Trickster; Wukong snaps to idle the same way his clone does.
  • Auto a wave or camp, then use Warrior Trickster right after an attack lands: the clone keeps attacking while you walk up unseen, saving Nimbus Strike for their escape.
  • While stealthed, cast Crushing Blow without hitting anything so your clone copies it and looks more like the real you.
