Viktor Guide

Mid

Viktor is a mid-to-late-game control mage: his early game is weak until his abilities start evolving, so the plan is to farm well, help your team for assists, and scale. After around 10 minutes he begins to shine, and late game he's one of the strongest champions in the game if he stays protected in the backline.

The standard page is Deathfire Touch with Manaflow Band, Transcendence and Scorch, plus Legend: Haste and Cut Down; Summon Aery with a Resolve secondary suits hard matchups, while First Strike, Arcane Comet and Grasp of the Undying pages are also listed. Take Flash with Teleport, Exhaust against assassins, or Barrier against burst. Start Doran's Ring and a potion, or Dark Seal to snowball, or Tear of the Goddess to rush Archangel's Staff, then buy Lost Chapter first. The normal build is Blackfire Torch, boots, Liandry's Torment, Hextech Rocketbelt, Zhonya's Hourglass, Void Staff and Rabadon's Deathcap. A safety build uses Rod of Ages, and a burst build for squishy teams adds Lich Bane and Shadowflame. Ionian Boots of Lucidity and Sorcerer's Shoes are his best boots. Max E in most matchups.

Strengths

  • Strong poke and wave clear with Hextech Ray.
  • Siphon Power's shield lets him trade safely early against many champions.
  • Chaos Storm deals area damage and interrupts channels like Katarina's or Malzahar's ultimates.

Weaknesses

  • Weak early game until his evolutions come online.
  • Few escapes beyond Siphon Power and Gravity Field.
  • Struggles against assassins and divers like Akali, Yone, Irelia or Diana.

Laning Phase

Farm well and scale. Start Siphon Power to trade with its shield and gain priority against champions who can't harass you well, or start Hextech Ray to poke against ranged champions. Siphon Power, then Hextech Ray, then an auto-attack lets you trade without taking damage. Hextech Ray can be cast while moving, so you can poke while dodging. Against strong level 2–3 champions like Yasuo, Irelia, Yone or Zed, play safe and wait for ganks.

Mid & Late Game

From around 10 minutes, be aggressive and make the most of your burst. Evolve Hextech Ray for stronger poke and wave clear, or Siphon Power for extra speed and safety against champions like Zed or Yasuo. Verdant Barrier or Seeker's Armguard help you survive tough matchups. Late game, stay with your team or use Teleport to push lanes, stay in the backline in teamfights, and poke as much as possible.

Key Tips

  • Chaos Storm can follow a target if you click on them, and it moves faster the closer it is to you.
  • Against Sylas, buy Banshee's Veil and Oblivion Orb.
  • Ionian Boots of Lucidity help you match cooldown-heavy champions like Syndra or Aurora.
