Teemo Guide

Mid

Teemo can play for tempo and map control in mid lane or scale his mushroom damage in top lane. Statikk Shiv clears waves without mana, Move Quick helps him reach the river, and Dark Harvest with Shadowflame adds damage. Secure the wave, disappear from vision, then use Noxious Traps to make every route to an objective dangerous.

The mid page is Dark Harvest with Taste of Blood, Grisly Mementos and Relentless Hunter, plus Celerity and Gathering Storm. Take Flash with Ignite and start Doran's Ring with two potions. The mid core, in order, is Statikk Shiv, Spellslinger's Shoes, Shadowflame, Rabadon's Deathcap, Void Staff and Stormsurge; buy Void Staff earlier once several enemies build magic resist. In top lane, an alternative setup runs Dark Harvest with Cheap Shot, Grisly Mementos and Ultimate Hunter, plus Absolute Focus and Gathering Storm. It builds Liandry's Torment, Malignance and Shadowflame with Sorcerer's Shoes, then Void Staff or Rabadon's Deathcap depending on enemy magic resist. Both max E, then Q, then W.

Strengths

  • Strong map pressure from mid — he can reach both sides of the river quickly.
  • Noxious Traps and Guerrilla Warfare create constant vision and ambush threats.
  • Provides reliable magic damage and frees top lane for a tank or bruiser.

Weaknesses

  • Short range makes early shoves risky against control mages and assassins.
  • Weak early; both builds need items before they come online.
  • Hard matchups like Fizz, Anivia, Azir or Syndra punish careless trades.

Laning Phase

Before your first item, play patiently: last-hit with Toxic Shot, don't waste Blinding Dart just to push, and keep the wave where you can't be ganked easily. One safe auto when the enemy walks up for a minion is enough; don't chase a second hit into their engage range. In mid, once Statikk Shiv is done, clear the wave and leave immediately to place a mushroom, help your jungler or threaten a side lane. In top, stay outside Darius's pull, avoid the top brushes against Rengar, and keep an escape shroom behind you.

Mid & Late Game

Push a safe wave first, then arrive 45–60 seconds before Dragon or Baron to prepare the area. Place mushrooms on routes that matter, such as river entrances, pixel brushes, jungle entrances and corners beside walls, rather than inside the pit. Spread them out so a single Oracle Lens sweep can't clear them all, and keep one or two charges for the fight. Shift your trap line toward your own jungle when behind and deeper into theirs when ahead. In fights, poke with Blinding Dart, apply Toxic Shot when safe and reposition before the enemy can retaliate.

Key Tips

  • Sometimes just disappearing from vision is enough to make side lanes back off.
  • Trap the route, not the destination, and remember shrooms don't replace wards.
  • Blinding Dart blinds basic attacks, not most abilities, so save it for auto-attackers or an assassin's committed burst.
