Taliyah Guide

Mid

Taliyah plays as a lane neutraliser with huge wave clear and area damage: thin waves, scale, and use Weaver's Wall to roam to side lanes and skirmishes. This setup uses Arcane Comet in place of the removed Phase Rush rune.

Our Arcane Comet page uses Manaflow Band, Transcendence and Scorch, plus Legend: Haste and Cut Down, and First Strike or Electrocute pages are also listed. Take Flash with Teleport. Start Doran's Ring with two potions, or Tear of the Goddess for a greedy start, and pick up Dark Seal, boots and Lost Chapter early. The standard build is Seraph's Embrace (from Archangel's Staff), Sorcerer's Shoes, Liandry's Torment, Rabadon's Deathcap, Cryptbloom and Zhonya's Hourglass. Ionian Boots of Lucidity or Mercury's Treads are boot options, and Mejai's Soulstealer, Banshee's Veil, Morellonomicon, Shadowflame, Cosmic Drive and Bloodletter's Curse are situational. Max Q, then E, then W.

Strengths

  • Huge wave clear — she can one-shot waves and move around the map.
  • Weaver's Wall enables long-range roams and side-lane rotations.
  • Lots of area damage and disruption, especially in chokes.

Weaknesses

  • Rarely builds a big lead in lane; her early game is about staying even.
  • Vulnerable to dashes and all-ins from Fizz, Irelia, Katarina or LeBlanc.
  • Wasting Unraveled Earth early can lose skirmishes.

Laning Phase

Against other ranged champions play defensively, poke with Unraveled Earth when you can, and use your wave-clear advantage. Against shorter-range champions, harass with E, Q and autos, but be careful of all-ins. Against dashes and gap closers, hold E defensively and keep the wave on your side to avoid being chased and to set up ganks. A good early game means high CS, few deaths and some kill participation from skirmishes or roams with Weaver's Wall after 6.

Mid & Late Game

Keep up your gold and XP while making every major objective fight: push side waves as far as you safely can, using Teleport or Weaver's Wall to return. Back about a minute before Dragon spawns so you arrive with full health, mana and items. Take AoE jungle camps like Krugs or Raptors when they're free. In teamfights, play front-to-back behind your tanks, save W to follow up on allies' crowd control, and look for fights in chokes where your AoE shines.

Key Tips

  • Taliyah pairs very well with AD ganking junglers who have CC, like Jarvan IV, Xin Zhao or Volibear.
  • Into Syndra or LeBlanc, an early Mercury's Treads or Null-Magic Mantle helps avoid giving kills.
  • Wait for key threats, like a Blitzcrank hook, to be used before fully committing to a fight.
