Sivir Guide

ADC

Sivir is a tempo marksman built around wave clear, fast rotations and team-wide speed. Fleet of Foot gives her a burst of movement speed whenever she hits an enemy champion, Boomerang Blade damages everything it passes through on the way out and back, Ricochet makes her next attacks bounce between nearby enemies, Spell Shield blocks one enemy ability and restores mana when it does, and On The Hunt gives her whole team a big movement speed boost. She controls the pace of the game rather than relying on raw mechanics.

Start Doran's Blade and a Health Potion, and buy Caulfield's Warhammer or Sheen, boots and a Control Ward on your first back. The standard spike is Essence Reaver, which solves her mana problems, Berserker's Greaves and Navori Flickerblade for near-permanent Ricochet, then Infinity Edge and Lord Dominik's Regards against tanks or Mortal Reminder against healing. When snowballing, Yun Tal Wildarrows with Infinity Edge is a strong first spike. Guardian Angel, Bloodthirster and Immortal Shieldbow are the defensive and sustain options, Maw of Malmortius helps against magic burst, Mercurial Scimitar against heavy crowd control, and Rapid Firecannon adds range against long-range threats. Take Plated Steelcaps, Mercury's Treads or Boots of Swiftness instead of Berserker's Greaves when you need defence. Run Lethal Tempo with Presence of Mind, Legend: Alacrity and Cut Down, plus Cash Back and Triple Tonic for sustain; Absolute Focus and Gathering Storm give more late damage, and Fleet Footwork helps survive hard lanes. Take Flash with Barrier, or Heal or Cleanse. Max Q, then W, then E.

Strengths

  • Unmatched wave clear for fast rotations and objective setups.
  • Spell Shield can block the one ability that decides a fight.
  • On The Hunt speeds up her whole team for engages, disengages and rotations.

Weaknesses

  • No true mobility, so positioning and Spell Shield timing are everything.
  • Long-range poke mages such as Xerath, Vel'Koz or Zyra outrange her badly.
  • Hook champions like Blitzcrank force her to hold Spell Shield, and one miss can mean death.

Laning Phase

Sivir's early game is about wave control and safe trading rather than kill pressure. Use Boomerang Blade to last-hit from range, poke enemies behind their minions and gain priority, aiming so your main target is hit first and the blade can return through them. Conserve mana and save Spell Shield for the key ability, such as a hook, stun or root; blocking it restores mana and wins the trade. Against hook champions and long-range poke mages, play patiently and farm safely.

Mid & Late Game

Once the first towers fall, rotate to mid and use your wave clear to push before objectives, forcing enemies to respond. Use On The Hunt to move your team quickly for skirmishes, vision and objective setups, and Ricochet to shred dragon and Baron. In late teamfights stay near the centre of your team, attack the closest target while Ricochet spreads damage, and hold Spell Shield for the most dangerous engage ability instead of using it reactively.

Key Tips

  • Boomerang Blade hits twice, on the way out and on the way back, so position for the return.
  • Ricochet bounces can critically strike and apply on-hit effects, great with crit items.
  • Blocking an ability with Spell Shield restores mana.
  • On The Hunt lasts longer for allies when you keep attacking enemies.
