Sion Guide

Top

Sion's Soul Furnace gives him endless health stacking, and this build leans into it: Grasp of the Undying and Shield Bash turn your huge health and frequent shields into damage, burn items hit everyone around you, and Revitalize plus Spirit Visage amplify all your healing and shielding so you can keep fighting through teamfights.

Grasp of the Undying with Shield Bash, Second Wind and Revitalize, plus Triumph and Last Stand (or Legend: Haste), with Flash and Ignite. Start Doran's Ring for mana sustain, then Bami's Cinder and a Refillable Potion at around 1,050 gold. Buy Bramble Vest against heavy healers, otherwise Tear of the Goddess for Winter's Approach — not both, or your first item comes too late. Finish Sunfire Aegis against AD (Hollow Radiance against AP), then Protoplasm Harness, Mercury's Treads, Unending Despair and Spirit Visage, with Winter's Approach or Jak'Sho last. Against heavy AP, Kaenic Rookern and Force of Nature; Plated Steelcaps only into full AD with little CC.

Strengths

  • Infinite health scaling from Soul Furnace.
  • Multi-target crowd control with Decimating Smash, Roar of the Slayer and Unstoppable Onslaught.
  • Huge durability and constant shields that fuel Shield Bash damage.

Weaknesses

  • Mana-hungry early, which is why the build starts Doran's Ring.
  • Delaying your first item with too many components lets enemies overpower you.
  • Healing-heavy enemies like Aatrox, Olaf or Irelia require Bramble Vest.

Laning Phase

The plan is to farm every minion and avoid dying early — the build is at its strongest from mid game onward. Judge the enemy's damage type across their whole team (especially top and jungle, whom you'll fight together) when choosing between Sunfire Aegis and Hollow Radiance.

Mid & Late Game

With Sunfire Aegis, Protoplasm Harness and Unending Despair, dive into teamfights to tank, burn and crowd-control several enemies at once. Protoplasm Harness's low-health effect gives you health, regeneration, size, tenacity and speed, letting you keep fighting or walk away. Use Unstoppable Onslaught to engage and disrupt the enemy team.

Key Tips

  • Second Wind scales with missing health, so it heals a lot on high-health Sion.
  • Protoplasm Harness's size boost also widens your burn items' area.
  • Revitalize and Spirit Visage boost both your shields and the healing from Unending Despair.
