Renekton Guide

Top

For Renekton, prioritize AD, then health, then cooldown reduction; Conqueror is never a bad keystone; and his level 1 is weak, so relax for the first three levels and let Renekton's high base scaling and strong 1v1 ultimate hand you priority instead of dying early.

The standard page is Conqueror with Absorb Life, Legend: Haste and Last Stand, plus Bone Plating and Demolish; Press the Attack pages suit some matchups. Take Flash with Teleport to split-push, Ignite to dominate lane, or Ghost as a teamfighter. Start Doran's Blade (Doran's Shield against ranged lanes). A typical core is Eclipse and Black Cleaver with Ionian Boots; a balanced full build adds Sterak's Gage, Spear of Shojin, Death's Dance and Spirit Visage. Against high-DPS enemies take Sterak's, against burst Spear of Shojin; Blade of the Ruined King, Stridebreaker, Plated Steelcaps and Maw of Malmortius are situational. A full assassin build is noted as best for mid lane.

Strengths

  • High base damage and scaling, with an ultimate that's very hard to beat 1v1.
  • Lane priority tends to fall to him after level 3 and 6.
  • Strong dive partner for early junglers like Elise, Rek'Sai or Olaf.

Weaknesses

  • Weak level 1 — early aggression rarely wins lanes.
  • Ranged and kiting top laners like Quinn, Gnar or Heimerdinger are very hard.
  • Out-scaled by champions like Kayle or Gragas if he doesn't get ahead.

Laning Phase

Don't force fights on the first wave. Play calmly for the first three levels and let your Fury-empowered Q grow, then look for trades once your kit and level 6 come online. Track the enemy's key cooldowns — against Jax, never dump an empowered W into his Counter Strike. In unwinnable lanes like Gangplank, Illaoi or Quinn, take Conqueror and Teleport, survive laning and play for teamfights.

Mid & Late Game

Renekton is a strong split-pusher and teamfighter: use Teleport to pressure side lanes and join fights, and dive alongside a jungler with crowd control to snowball. If you're behind against AD early, buy Plated Steelcaps, and build Mercury's Treads and Hexdrinker against three or more AP champions.

Key Tips

  • Use E1 to dodge Heimerdinger's grenade.
  • Against Poppy, build Black Cleaver early — her W blocks your dash.
  • Against Singed, take W at level 2 and look for a Flash combo kill.
