Qiyana is a high-pace, highly mechanical assassin with big outplay potential — rewarding, but not a good first champion, and harder to play the higher you climb because opponents build against her.

Situational Items

Choose between two styles. Electrocute with Sudden Impact, Grisly Mementos and Ultimate Hunter (plus Presence of Mind and Last Stand, or Resolve) is for winning lane with early trades and one-shotting squishy teams — we recommend it almost always in Platinum and below. Conqueror with Triumph, Legend: Alacrity and Last Stand is for longer trades against health-stacking mages and is common among top Qiyana players. Take Flash and Ignite, or Teleport for a scaling setup. Start Doran's Blade. The assassin build is Voltaic Cyclosword or Profane Hydra first, then Axiom Arc and Crimson Lucidity, finishing with Serylda's Grudge, Edge of Night or Death's Dance. A Conqueror cooldown build starts Hubris; a scaling top or anti-tank build uses Manamune and Sundered Sky.

Strengths

Highly mechanical kit with huge outplay potential.
Can take over games solo when the enemy team is squishy.
Flexible assassin, Conqueror and scaling builds.

Weaknesses

Hard to learn and punishing at higher elo.
Easily countered by Exhaust, Bone Plating, early armor, health-stacking mages and Zhonya's.
Very hard lanes into Diana, Zoe, LeBlanc, Pantheon, Rumble and Renekton.

Key Tips

Use ice Q against LeBlanc — grass Q's stealth is useless when she can reveal you.
Mel's W can't reflect the second part of your Q because it isn't a projectile.
Edge of Night helps a lot into champions like Vex, Gragas or Diana.
Decide Electrocute versus Conqueror from the enemy comp and whether you need to one-shot a priority carry.
