Naafiri Guide

Mid

Naafiri is a pack-based AD assassin: she clears waves fast with her packmates, roams to punish isolated targets, and dives squishy backliners with Hounds' Pursuit, resetting it on takedowns.

An alternative setup runs Hail of Blades with Sudden Impact, Sixth Sense and Treasure Hunter, plus Axiom Arcanist and Transcendence. Its alternative pages are Conqueror and an Electrocute setup. Take Flash and Ignite, or Teleport for a safer lane. Start Doran's Blade, or Doran's Shield into poke mages like Malzahar, Azir or Mel. Rush boots on an early recall. The assassin core is Voltaic Cyclosword, Axiom Arc and Serylda's Grudge, with Hubris as the second-item alternative. Situational picks are Serpent's Fang, Youmuu's Ghostblade, Profane Hydra and Edge of Night. The bruiser path is Voltaic Cyclosword, Black Cleaver and Spear of Shojin into Sterak's Gage, Death's Dance or Maw of Malmortius. Max Q, then W, then E.

Strengths

  • Strong burst and fast wave clear that free her up to roam.
  • Hounds' Pursuit sticks to targets through Flash and dashes and can be recast after a takedown.
  • The Call of the Pack makes her untargetable and spawns extra packmates.

Weaknesses

  • Champions who wipe her pack, like Yasuo, Irelia and Malzahar, are her hardest matchups.
  • She shouldn't engage first, or she gets burst down.
  • Healing mages like Vladimir force an early anti-heal purchase that slows her build.

Laning Phase

Ward early to track the jungler and trade with Darkin Daggers. When your jungler moves to an objective, clear the wave with your pack and roam to help. Most mid matchups come down to baiting out one key spell: use Hounds' Pursuit to dodge Ekko's stun, Ahri's charm or Mel's projectiles, and go in after Taliyah wastes her E. Against Malzahar, Yasuo or Sylas, who kill your whole pack, avoid early fights, push and out-roam them. Against Vladimir, take Doran's Blade and fight hard at level 2.

Mid & Late Game

Force fights in the river or the enemy jungle, where your burst and the Hounds' Pursuit recast snowball quickly. With Hubris, take river skirmishes to stack it, or dive bot to hit both the support and ADC. Never go in first: let a teammate engage, then clean up. Junglers with stuns like Elise or Amumu set you up perfectly. Late game, look for picks on isolated squishy targets.

Key Tips

  • Eviscerate recalls hurt packmates and fully heals them.
  • The Call of the Pack doesn't clear damage-over-time effects.
  • Axiom Arc brings Hounds' Pursuit back very quickly after a takedown.
  • Prioritize enemies carrying Mejai's Soulstealer.
