Fizz Guide

Mid

We recommend a teamfight-sustain Fizz built on Press the Attack and Dusk and Dawn, while also covering burst (Lich Bane) and high-haste builds. In lane: start E, give up early waves if needed, win the level 3 trade and look for a level 4 all-in; later, dive with Chum the Waters and Zhonya's Hourglass to win fights.

The recommended page is Press the Attack with Triumph, Legend: Haste and Coup de Grace, plus Manaflow Band and Transcendence; Electrocute pages suit the burst build. Start Doran's Ring and always buy Dark Seal on your first recall (upgrade to Mejai's only at 10 stacks if you can keep them). The recommended build is Dusk and Dawn, Gluttonous Greaves and Zhonya's Hourglass — never skip Zhonya's as your second item — into Rabadon's Deathcap, Void Staff and Shadowflame. The high-burst alternative uses Lich Bane with Ionian Boots, and a high-haste path starts with Blackfire Torch.

Strengths

  • Playful/Trickster is mobility, waveclear, trading, engage, escape and skillshot dodging in one ability.
  • Strong level 3–4 trades and all-ins against most laners.
  • Chum the Waters thrown from max range can disrupt and win an entire teamfight.

Weaknesses

  • Wasting E in lane leaves him with no pressure or escape — one bad E can be fatal.
  • Very little damage without W or a Spellblade item.
  • Struggles into counters like Akali, Galio and Sylas, and against tanky laners.

Laning Phase

Start E in almost every matchup: last-hit the three melee minions with it, then wait for level 3, giving up early waves if you'd otherwise eat heavy poke. At 3, Q onto the enemy, auto + W, keep autoing until they use an ability, then E to dodge it, land the slow and walk away. Shove for level 4; if they're in kill range, put the second point in W and go Flash + Q + W + Ignite. Max E afterwards, and use E to reset tower aggro when diving.

Mid & Late Game

Fizz's value comes from picks and disruption. Throw Chum the Waters from max range for the biggest shark, slow and damage, or into the middle of a teamfight to scatter the enemy. Engage, then use Zhonya's Hourglass to stall until your cooldowns return — paired with E, it makes his dives far safer. Land the shark on the ADC and the fight is usually yours.

Key Tips

  • Q through a minion and cast R immediately to hide the ult and extend its range.
  • With Dusk and Dawn, activate W before your first spellblade auto so the doubled on-hit includes W.
  • Stand inside your minions' hitboxes so the enemy struggles to aim skillshots.
  • Wait for a Kassadin Q to travel, then E just before it lands to dodge it.
