Fiddlesticks Guide

Jungle

Fiddlesticks is an AP jungler who wins teamfights with Crowstorm: channel it from fog of war, blink into the enemy team and drain them with Bountiful Harvest while Reap silences and Terrify fears. Before level 6 he is a strong early duelist and skirmisher thanks to Bountiful Harvest's drain, and the newest guides build him as a damage threat that scales into an ultimate-and-cooldown-centred style.

Start Gustwalker Hatchling. Your first back is Fated Ashes, then Dark Seal, then basic boots; you can sit on tier 1 boots for a long time, since kills matter more than boots for a snowballing jungler. The main guide builds Sorcerer's Shoes, Hextech Rocketbelt, Zhonya's Hourglass and Shadowflame, then Morellonomicon and Rabadon's Deathcap; a more aggressive line goes Liandry's Torment, Shadowflame, Zhonya's Hourglass, Rabadon's Deathcap and Void Staff. Only after Shadowflame consider Protoplasm Harness against dash-heavy teams, Rylai's Crystal Scepter against teams with few dashes, Bloodletter's Curse with another AP carry, or Spirit Visage and Imperial Mandate for a utility build. Run Dark Harvest with Sudden Impact, Grisly Mementos and Ultimate Hunter, plus Axiom Arcanist and Absolute Focus; Deathfire Touch with Transcendence and Gathering Storm is the author's current alternative. Take Flash and Smite. Max W, then Q, then E.

Strengths

  • Crowstorm from fog of war can decide a teamfight on its own.
  • Bountiful Harvest drains health from everyone nearby, which makes him a strong early duelist.
  • Plenty of crowd control with Terrify's fear and Reap's silence.

Weaknesses

  • Bountiful Harvest is a channel, and crowd control cancels it.
  • Junglers with a lot of crowd control or early dueling power, such as Amumu, Hecarim or Udyr, outclear and outfight him.
  • Without his ultimate he is easy to collapse on, and he needs leads to snowball.

Laning Phase

Learn the fast Fiddlesticks clear: it is especially strong when you start red side. Fiddlesticks is a strong early skirmisher, so play with your mid laner, and do not be afraid to skip camps on your first clear from blue side when an early kill is available. Respect enemy crowd control at early levels and only channel Bountiful Harvest when it will not be cancelled.

Mid & Late Game

From level 6 hide in fog of war and brushes around objectives, wait for the enemy to group, then channel Crowstorm and blink into them with Zhonya's Hourglass ready. Hextech Rocketbelt or Flash after the channel can add extra range. Your effigies and Grisly Mementos help with vision control, so set up the area before dragon or Baron and let the enemy walk into your ultimate.

Key Tips

  • Channel Bountiful Harvest only when the enemy has used their crowd control, or it will be cancelled.
  • Use Zhonya's Hourglass after Crowstorm lands to survive the return damage.
  • An early kill is worth more than a full clear for a snowballing Fiddlesticks.
  • Stand in fog of war before you channel Crowstorm, because a seen channel gives the enemy time to leave.
